Whether you have this notorious disorder or not, you must know that acne is the most common skin problem that young people have. Almost everyone will develop acne to some degree, but some people have more pimples than others. Acne is not a skin problem that is treated quickly and then never comes back again. It requires time, patience, and understanding on your part especially if you want to prevent yourself from the bothersome and debilitating complications of acne such as scars. The following article is intended to review an advanced, yet cheap and quick acne scar treatment that has been recommended by a number of dermatologists and acne sufferers. However, to better learn more about acne scar treatment, it is crucial that you first understand what causes acne scars and what are they.
Scars in acne
One of the most severe and serious complications of acne is the development of scars. While acne is not a serious health threat or fatal disease, it sure is a serious “cosmetic” threat to your beauty and, in fact, can make your life miserable by causing permanent scars and marks on your face. If not addressed properly, for many people, acne problems can continue all throughout their life well into adulthood, even though they were told as teens that they would “outgrow” it. Unlike the odd pimple or blemish, which clears after several days, acne is a chronic skin condition i.e. it may persist for long term (or even permanently) and develops slowly, progressively over the period of time and, if left untreated, leaves scars that may persist forever. Preventing the development of scars should be the number one priority in the first place.
What causes scars in acne?
i) Acne Conglobata
One of the frequent causes of the scar formation in acne is acne Conglobata. Acne Conglobata is more severe as it occurs as interconnected lesions that are dotted with pimples, whiteheads and blackheads. This form of extreme acne is generally characterized by the appearance of large and numerous nodules. The age of onset for acne Conglobata is usually between 18 and 30 years of age and it is more likely for males to get the condition than it is for females. It should also be noted that acne Conglobata can stay active for many years, lying dormant until something causes it to resurface. Because of the severity of the condition, this often leads to scarring.
ii) Pyroderma Faciale
This type is also often seen in women who are 20 to 40 years old. This type can be quite severe as it often involves the presence of nodules, sores and some pustules, which all lead to scarring. However, fortunately, if treated well, the condition will rarely continue or last for longer than a year.
These are more serious acne lesions. They lodge deeper in the skin, are painful, and can cause scarring. As opposed to the lesions mentioned above, nodular acne consists of acne spots which are much larger, can be quite painful, and can sometimes last for months. Nodules are large, hard bumps deep under the skin’s surface. Scarring is common. Absolutely do not attempt to squeeze such a lesion. You may cause severe trauma to the skin and the lesion may last for months longer than it normally would. Dermatologists often have ways of lessening swelling and preventing scarring.
Like nodules, these lesions are deep within in the skin, are painful, and are filled with pus, and can cause scarring. An acne cyst can appear similar to a nodule, but is pus-filled, and can been described as having a diameter of 5mm or more across. Again, scarring is common with cystic acne.
Discovering a unique acne scar treatment
Quite recently, there has been some tremendous advancement in the field of acne scar removal especially because of the rapidly increasing use of certain skin eraser kits that are specifically made and used to help prevent and treat scars in acne. Typically, a stander skin eraser kit consists of the following components:
i) Microdermabrasion Complex
A granular formulation is based in mineral-heavy clay, this microdermabrasion complex is designed specifically to provide intensive dermabrasion on the surface of the skin and to make acne-affected skin completely scar free. As it allows for better penetration of actives and more rapid exfoliation through the sensitive skin, its effects are quickly achieved and stay for long after regular use.
ii) Skin Eraser
This skin eraser is composed of three main ingredients i.e. ascorbic, glycol and lactic acid which all act synergistically to effectively exfoliate the upper layers of the skin. The net result is the minimization of scars, imperfections, dullness, hyperpigmentation, discoloration, bumpiness and fine lines and wrinkles.
