Remedies to Get Rid of AcneAcne can be troublesome when it gets really bad. It can look unsightly and you will find that people can't seem to take their eyes off of your pimples. It also can be very painful. Since there are so many myths about acne, it can be hard to find the right remedy without doing research first. Instead, you will end up keeping your terrible acne and having further social and emotional problems. After all, people with bad acne, or even mild or moderate acne, end up feeling bad about themselves and having low self esteem. In order to feel better about yourself, you may want to figure out how to get rid of acne. In order to do so, you need to weed out the myths and learn about the truly helpful remedies and medications. Most people think that acne comes from lack of hygiene. We have been told this for years. We think that if you wash our face, we will prevent our skin from growing pimples. Scientists and doctors have now found this to not be true. In reality, your pimples have nothing to do with dirt. They actually form when oil gets clogged in your hair follicles and pores. Once clogged, it will create a bump. If that bump gets infected, it will then turn into the red and inflamed bumps you may know well. While washing your face will keep it smooth and clean, it won't remove the oil from your pores. At least not well enough to get rid of your acne or to prevent it from happening. Instead, you need to worry about the real cause of acne and use the right medication to get rid of it. One great medication, which is perfect for people who have mild to moderate acne, is a topical bactericidal. These are very common in drug stores and you can buy them over the counter. They also tend to be rather inexpensive, so you don't need to worry too much about running out of this cream. Make sure that the cream or gel you buy contains benzoyl peroxide as this is the active ingredient. If that doesn't work, you may need to use an antibiotic to help get rid of acne. Since the worst and most noticeable acne happens because of an infection, it only makes sense that you could help the condition by using an antibiotic. You can get this two ways, both of which need a prescription from a doctor. You could use a cream to rub on your face, or a pill to swallow. Pills are good because it will take care of all infections whether you know about them or not. Creams and gels are good because they have fewer side effects. Be sure to weigh both options before choosing a method. Some acne even survives an antibiotic. You have more options if this is the case. First, you could try to use the benzoyl peroxide product and the antibiotic at the same time. This pairing can be very powerful. Or you could use other medications. A shot of cortisone can really make a difference. This should be used in extreme cases. If you are still having problems with extreme acne, it is a good idea to talk to your doctor. They will be able to prescribe exactly what you need in order to finally get rid of these zits. Just make sure to read about the side effects before taking anything. The more potent the medication is, the worse the side effects will be. You should take this into consideration before making your decision. |
